A new heritage and ecological route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta offered international participants opportunities to experience local ways of life and distinctive Khmer cultural heritage, with particularly strong interest from European markets.
These destination programmes demonstrated the potential of Ho Chi Minh City to serve not only as a destination in its own right, but also as a gateway connecting visitors to a wider network of destinations across southern Vietnam.
