“Vietnam Night” – Bringing the Essence of Vietnamese Culture to the World
The 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2025) officially kicked off with an impressive opening event – the “Vietnam Night” Art Program themed “Essence Flow.”
This event was not only a warm welcome to nearly 700 international delegates from 41 countries and territories but also a cultural bridge introducing the finest aspects of Vietnamese tourism and cuisine to friends around the globe.
At Thiskyhall Convention Center, distinguished guests immersed themselves in a space rich with Vietnamese culture, arts, and gastronomy.
“Essence Flow” – A Profound Message from Ho Chi Minh City
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Được, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphasized the meaning of the “Essence Flow” theme. The flow of rivers, especially the Mekong, represents not only life but also the source of culture and history for diverse peoples. This message symbolizes the inheritance and continuity of heritage values, while also extending an invitation to friendship, cooperation, and sustainable development.
Through this art night, Ho Chi Minh City presents a new image: a modern, dynamic megacity that still preserves its traditional identity. As Vietnam’s leading economic and financial center, the city is also an attractive and promising tourist destination.
Highlights of the “Vietnam Night” Art Program
Meticulously staged, the “Vietnam Night” Art Program offered the audience an emotional journey of discovery:
- Shadow Dance & Music Mashup: The opening performances “Welcome Ho Chi Minh City” and “Come to My Vietnam – Hello Ho Chi Minh City” provided a warm greeting and launched a journey of cultural and tourism connection.
- Short Film “Essence Flow”: International guests experienced impressive footage of Ho Chi Minh City—from heritage landmarks to its vibrant lifestyle, green tourism initiatives, and rapidly developing urban infrastructure.
- Martial Arts Musical Scene “Cultural Essence”: This performance led audiences back to Vietnam’s heritage regions, combining cải lương, traditional tuồng opera, music, and choreography.
- “Heritage Essence” Áo Dài Fashion Show: Inspired by traditional craft villages—shell craft, lacquerware, ceramics—this collection painted a vivid, evocative portrait of Vietnamese culture.
Vietnamese Cuisine – A Journey of Cultural Experience
Beyond the art, cuisine at “Vietnam Night” was also a special highlight. Vietnamese gastronomy was introduced as a cultural journey, with each dish reflecting deep history and refined Vietnamese living traditions.
A unique ceremonial opening involved pouring rice into clay pots—symbolizing abundance and wishing for global unity and prosperity. Ho Chi Minh City curated a premium menu to promote its image as a diverse tourist destination with high-quality services.
ITE HCMC 2025 – Toward Sustainable Tourism
ITE HCMC 2025 takes place from September 4–6 at SECC under the theme “Sustainable Tourism – Immersive Experiences.” The event defines Vietnam’s strategic vision for tourism, encouraging businesses and localities to develop green and responsible travel products.
More than a travel promotion event, ITE HCMC 2025 is a crucial platform helping elevate Vietnam’s tourism as an attractive and influential destination in the Mekong region and across Asia.
